Dream Weekend Getaway.

Marriott’s campaign puts the spotlight on the portfolio’s featured properties. The concept stems from the perfect weekend getaway. If you think about it, having something fun to look forward to is sometimes better than the actual thing — except when that thing is sleeping in, ordering french toast from the room service menu and thinking about ripping waves with the locals at 6am but ultimately sleeping in, because… you know …Marriott.

We wanted to create a feeling of an escape from day to day monotony. We focused on our own experiences of reflection and moments of epiphany. We also liked the idea of peaceful sleep in a cozy hotel. Our intent was to tie all those themes together. We shot with vintage anamorphic lenses because the highlights bloomed in a dreamy way and the imperfections of the lenses added a sense of nostalgia. The shoot was all on-location and we had very little time so the lenses and the lighting really allowed us to push the limits with our verite style of cinematography. We also had fun with a sunrise underwater surf scene. The locals were cool enough to let us film and mildly disrupt the wavy vibes.
