Hisense
“Ultra HD”

This is High Def, Bro.

This is a fairly straightforward commercial. We had pyro and confetti cannons and we got to film a race car. All very cool. The real story is that we won this bid three days before we needed to film. We had two hours over two nights to film everything. Fast math — that’s just four hours in total. Then it rained. We lost the first night entirely, so now we had only two hours to shoot all on-track footage. This involved the crew working ahead, running around (safely) and us not having any time for playback. We got one take for the very expensive pyro shot. We had two takes for the confetti cannons and we spent 45 minutes rigging the camera to the car so we could drive it around the track at 100+ mph. It was insane. If we were one minute past curfew a bunch of track police would come out and fine us. We went three minutes over and they actually came. No fine, though. We told them we were wrapped and they let us off with only a severe power tripping lecture. Ultimately, one hell of a production.
