“Fan Heist”
6 Cities, 5 Days and 2.3 Million Views.
McLaren came to ADB with an ambitious concept and a goal to generate F1 awareness with NFL fans here in the states. We immediately loved the idea. The shared enthusiasm between ADB and McLaren got the project up and running in no time.
ADB scripted a journey that included McLaren street cars, Monday Night Football, skydiving, helicopters, hot laps and cameos from some of the most beloved athletes in the world. Long form content requires each segment to be uniquely entertaining, but also has to complement the surrounding segments. We spent a lot of time planning the tone and pace of each segment so we could weave together something dynamic.
Six ADB crew members traveled from Chicago > Nashville > Memphis > Houston > Austin > Chicago over a span of five days. Needless to say, our prep was intense, but everything went smoothly thanks to a pro crew and a detailed schedule.
An editor traveled with us to handle DIT and to get a head start on assembly. We locked the final cut five days after we wrapped the shoot. This meant two editors worked around the clock as soon as we left Austin. ADB and McLaren were able to send cuts and notes back and forth seamlessly and work around a 7-hour time difference based on a tight post schedule.
Ultimately the McLaren fans, along with the Bills fans, loved the content. The YouTube post received over 1 million views within 24 hours.
