Arrow McLaren SP (AMSP) came to us and asked that we make something that would get the fanbase fired up for the upcoming race season, while also revealing the car livery, fire suits and driver lineup. Challenge accepted.
Our creative friends at AMSP came up with a loose narrative to work from. We storyboarded every frame and designed custom lighting for the car and drivers. Over the course of three days we filmed in multiple locations, ate lots of fast food and set off one super loud fire alarm at Pato’s apartment.
Our main focus was to create a narrative montage that ends with goosebumps. It’s kind of a two-act structure. The first act tells the story. The second act reveals the cars and fire suits. The first act was inspired by all the sports movies we love and the second act was inspired by video art classes in college and shark footage, believe it or not. We had so much fun and we hope that translates.
